What better way to get in shape by walking throughout the day.
Studies have shown that walking is one of the easiest ways to improve health. Specifically, walking may help manage chronic conditions, like type 2 diabetes, and can help prevent cardiovascular issues.
2 weeks (14 days) in October 2021. The Walking Challenge will officially begin Friday, October 1st. You and your team can keep track of your steps using a simple pedometer, activity tracker, or smartphone app during 14 working days and/or include 2 weekend days. The last day to submit the number of steps is Friday, October 29, 2021.
Find a team of 3 or more colleagues. We encourage you to take walking meetings or grab lunch at a spot around the corner to help you get moving. The team with the most steps at the end of the challenge will be entered into a shared raffle to win a prize.
Walking Pair Challenge
This challenge is for two people. Feel free to find a partner or sign up here if you're looking for a partner (Links to an external site.). This will be a great way to get to know a faculty or staff in a different division. The pair with the most steps at the end will be entered into a raffle for a prize.
This challenge focuses on individuals and their weekly average number of steps. At the end of the challenge, the person who improved the most from their weekly step counts from the first week to the last will win the title “Most Improved” and receive a prize. In addition, the person who has the most number of steps at the end of the challenge will receive the gold prize, the second runner up and third will also receive special prizes.

How to submit your info
All individuals, pairs and teams must submit their Steps Tracking Sheet by 5pm on Friday, October 29th to Christina Kim, firstname.lastname@example.org to be eligible for prizes. Folks, we've got lots of great prizes to give out this Fall so please join in on the fun and get your feet moving!
