Amir Whitehead, '21, has been selected to participate in the prestigious Telluride Association Sophomore Seminar (TASS). TASS is considered to be one of the most selective pre-college programs in the country.
With an acceptance rate of approximately 9%, Amir was one of only 56 students from the United States and Canada for the rigorous program, which includes a daily three-hour seminar a public speaking program, lectures from guest professors, writing workshop, field trips, and frequent cultural activities. Out of 56 winners, Amir is the only student from Maryland.
He will spend six weeks studying at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the Black Movements seminar.
