Volunteer with the Parents Association

Dear Parents,

Each spring and summer we organize volunteers for the following calendar year. We encourage and welcome all parents to become involved during the 2022-2023 academic year. The Parents Association has a wide range of opportunities and time commitments, so please review the volunteer opportunities here and click the blue button to sign up.

Volunteer Opportunities

Annual Giving - class chair or phonathon volunteer

Class chairs assist the annual giving program; phonathon volunteers are need two or three evenings per school year.

Book Store

Assists bookstore with various needs from 1 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. during the school day.

Bull Roast

Organizes the School's largest community event. Volunteers assist with planning, promoting throughout the parent community, decorating and set-up for this schoolwide celebration.

Class Representatives

Grades K-12 utilize parent volunteers to serve as class reps. (Responsibilities vary but include attendance at a monthly meeting.)

Community, Inclusion, and Equity Committee

Encourages, supports, and promotes diversity at Gilman by fostering an inclusive community.

Cultural Arts Festival Planning Committee

Plans annual event that highlights the rich diversity within the Gilman community by showcasing art, history, music, customs, and entertainment from cultures throughout the world.

Faculty/Staff Appreciation

Coordinates a special "thank you" event for faculty and staff in each division.

Father/Son Committee

Plans and promotes social and service-related activities for boys and their dads or special friends.

Gilman Exchange

Sort, tag, and display merchandise as well as staff and publicize the Gilman Exchange.

Gilman Hospitality

Greets guests and serve refreshments at important School events.

GrandFriends Visit

Coordinates Lower School grandparent visit day, serving as hosts and greeters.

Middle School Social Events

Organizes multi-school activity nights or events such as dances and Hoops For Habitat.

Photo Days

Assists with individual school photo and make-up picture days.

Red Cross Blood Drive

Coordinates and distributes refreshments during Blood Drive.

Senior Class Events

Assist in planning events for seniors and/or their families, such as prom and Senior/Mom Luncheon.

SpringFest Committee

Plans a spring festival for the Gilman community.

Volunteer Job Description Coordinator

Review, edit, and update all job descriptions for Parents Association chair positions and activities. Perfect opportunity for those who like to volunteer from home!

Welcoming Committees

One chair per division helps familiarize new parents with Gilman.

Welcome Reception

Assists with beginning-of-the-school-year parent welcome reception at Gilman.

Wellness Committee

The Parents Association Wellness Committee is comprised of current parents with a mission dedicated to promoting a culture of physical and emotional wellbeing for our boys. Facilitate wellness communication through various online resources, workshops, and events.
